Cong. Schaarai Zedek

A good fit: The clergy staff has begun a “Shabbat for the Body, Mind, Soul, & Stomach” program to offer a new way to make Shabbat morning a part of your week. Feel free to join in any or all parts of the morning. Congregants gather Saturday, Feb. 2 and 23 at 8 a.m. on Bayshore Boulevard at Bay to Bay Boulevard as a clergy member leads brief morning prayers or shares a word of Torah. Then walk, run or bike along Bayshore. At 9:15 a.m. there will be a discussion of the week’s Torah portion. At 10:30 a.m. a casual, “come as you are” Shabbat morning service is planned. Bagels will be provided, and people are welcome to eat during the service. This is for all ages – singles, couples and families. RSVP online www.zedek.org/ RSVP or call the temple at (813) 876-2377.

Hamantaschen baking and sales: The Sisterhood will be baking hamantaschen on Sundays, Feb. 3 and 10 at 9 a.m. and on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. Those who want to participate should contact Andi Parker at andironp@aol.com or Toni Rosen at tonirosen@verizon.net to sign up.

The Sisterhood will be selling the homemade hamantaschen on Sunday mornings, Feb. 10 and 24 and March 3. The cost is $10 for a dozen.

Sisterhood Book Club: Join in a discussion about “The Address” by Fiona Davis on Monday, Feb. 18 at noon. For more information, call the temple,

Sisterhood Shabbat: The Sisterhood’s Shabbat dinner and service will be on Friday, Feb. 15, with the dinner at 6 p.m. and service at 7:30 p.m. Cantor Deborrah Cannizzaro will be guest speaker. Sisterhood members will lead the service. The cost of the dinner is $18 per person. RSVP to the temple office.

Museum tour: The “Nu” Frontiers group for those 50ish and beyond will tour the Bill Graham Rock ‘n’ Roll Revolution exhibit at The Florida Holocaust Museum on Sunday, Feb. 3 from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cost, including bus trip, admission and a pizza lunch, is $18, or $9 for museum members. Explore the extraordinary life of music promoter Bill Graham (1931-1991). Graham, who helped launch and promote the careers of countless rock ‘n’ roll artists, came to the United States as an 11-yearold Jewish refugee who was fleeing the Nazis. The morning will begin with bagels and a schmeer provided by Meg Moskovitz, the tour guide. The group will have pizza and salad when they return to temple.
