Community Leadership Awards event set for Oct. 19

The Tampa Jewish Community Centers and Federation will present this year’s Community Leadership Awards ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bryan Glazer Family JCC, 522 N. Howard Ave., Tampa.

This annual event recognizes those who have made a significant impact on the Tampa JCCs and Federation and other local Jewish community agencies. Each award is named after a beloved community member that embodies the principles of dedicated leadership, tikkun olam and commitment to enriching the continuity of Jewish life locally and worldwide.

JCCs and Federation award recipients:

• Judy Balbar – Bob Jacobson Memorial Award for

Excellence

• Ashley Simon – Hope Cohen Barnett Young Leadership Award

• Kip Goulder – Charles Adler Young Leadership

Award

• Betty Shalett – Leonore Kessler Women’s Division Leadership Excellence Award

• Pam Levenstone – Alice Rosenthal “It’s More Than Just a Job” Award • Charlie George – Maril Jacobs Todah Rabah Award • Rochelle Walk – Leo Levinson Award for Leadership Excellence • Hillel Academy’s Maker Lab – Steve Marx Innovation Award Community agencies award recipients: • The Hatfield Family – Hillel Academy Outstanding Service Award • Jim Annarelli – Hillels of the Florida Suncoast Appreciation Award • Debbie Doliner – Tampa Jewish Family Services Sofia Maisler Leadership Award • Abraham Marcadis – Tampa Orlando Pinellas Jewish Foundation Distinguished Trustee Award • Jerome Messerman – Weinberg Village Volunteer Service Award
