TOP Jewish Foundation celebrates ‘Life & Legacy’ donors with family event

The Tampa Orlando Pinellas Jewish Foundation (TOP) will honor those who have remembered a Tampa or Pinellas Jewish organization with a legacy pledge of funds when TOP holds a celebration on Wednesday, May 24.

The family-friendly event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Florida Holocaust Museum, 55 Fifth St. S., in downtown St. Petersburg.

The celebration marks the end of TOP’s participation in the “Legacy & Life” initiative of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation which encouraged folks to make a gift to local Jewish organizations in their wills, trusts, retirement accounts, or life insurance policies.

The celebration is not just for the 250 local “Life & Legacy” program participants who have pledged more than $9 million, but also for any others who have made legacy gifts.

“At TOP, we believe that philanthropy is a family affair, so we’ve planned an evening for all generations,” said Susan Goldstein, Life & Legacy program director.

There will be hors d’oeuvres catered by Dean Hershkowitz of Meze 119 and Israeli wine for the adults, and kid-friendly snacks. In addition, tzedakah activities for the young ones are planned, and family photos by Photostages for everyone.

Even with the end of the program, the TOP staff “looks forward to maintaining our partnerships with all local Jewish organizations as, together, we continue to build a strong, financially stable Jewish community,” Goldstein added.

There is no charge for this community celebration.

To RSVP, call (813) 961-9090 or email natalie@topjewishfoundation.org.
