Mixing sweets and nostalgia with singer/songwriter

Jewish singer/songwriter Dean Friedman is making a Florida appearance at Beer and Brownies in Tampa on Saturday, March 4.

Dean is best known for his hit song, “Ariel”, which reached No. 26 on the Billboard charts in 1977. “Ariel” was a song about a young Jewish girl from “deep in the bosom of suburbia,” from Friedman’s real-life hometown of Paramus, NJ. His song, “Lucky Stars” was among several that charted in the United Kingdom.

In addition to his 10 musical albums, Friedman has also written and produced several theme songs for television and film, including for shows on Nickelodeon and NBC.

Beer and Brownies offers a coffeehouse setting with couches, chairs and tables. It is located at 2312 W. Waters Ave., Tampa.

Tickets can be purchased for $20 online at
