Hillel USF offers Hebrew program to community

An Ulpan (Hebrew for instruction) Hebrew Program is being offered at the USF Hillel Jewish Student Center on Mondays from 6-7:30 p.m. through April 7.

The lessons will be taught by Anat Valdman, USF Hillel director of Jewish Education and Programs, who is from Israel. The lessons will include instruction in the Hebrew alphabet, basic Hebrew reading, and basic conversational Hebrew. Israeli food will be served and no previous knowledge of Hebrew is required. The class is open to the community and is free, although donations to Hillels of the Florida Suncoast will be appreciated.

Though the classes have already begun, it is not too late to begin attending them, Hillel officials said. The class will be taught at the Hillel student center, 13101 USF Sycamore Drive in Tampa. For more information, contact Valdman at or (813) 899-2788.
