Holocaust memorial to gays to be built in Tel Aviv

JERUSALEM – A monument to gays persecuted by the Nazis will be built in Tel Aviv. The monument, the first of its kind in Israel, will be constructed in Meir Park, near the Tel Aviv Gay and Lesbian Association Center in the central part of the city, Haaretz reported.  More...

Rockets fired from Lebanon do damage in northern Israel

JERUSALEM – Four rockets were fired at northern Israel Thursday, Aug. 22, causing damage to homes and cars but no reported injuries.  In Nahariya, seven houses and three cars were damaged; several homes and cars were damaged in Acre as well. At least one rocket was intercepted by an Iron Dome anti-missile battery deployed in the area, according to the Israel Defense Forces.  More...

Refaeli takes on British rocker Waters over call for cultural boycott of Israel

JERUSALEM – Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli tweeted in Hebrew that she no longer wants to be associated with British rocker Roger Waters after his open letter calling for a cultural boycott of Israel. “Roger Waters, you better take my picture off of the video art at your shows. If you’re boycotting – go all the way,” Refaeli said.  More...
