Sisterhood Book Club: Join Sisterhood members for a book discussion on Tuesday Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. For more information, contact the temple office.

Senior luncheon: A special senior luncheon featuring guest speaker Hazzan Mordechai Schram of Congregation Rodeph Sholom will be held Thursday, Feb. 23 at 11:30 a.m. A fourth generation hazzan, Schram has worked at congregations throughout New York City before coming to Tampa. He teaches and encourages “congregational davening,” connecting Jews to the beauty and meaning of Jewish prayer, ritual and observance. Cost is free for members, $3 for non-members. Sandwich N’ Socks Sunday: Join this mitzvah program in which congregants of all ages (parents, children, singles, couples) work together to help the homeless in Tampa on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 11:30 a.m. Participants will gather at the temple to make bag lunches containing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, socks, toiletries, and nonperishable food for homeless individuals who go for lunch at the Faith Café. Hebrew class: Semester 2 of Beginning Hebrew for Adults will be taught by Ann Rubin on Mondays, Feb. 27 - April 23 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $36 for members and $54 for non-members. Plenty of Purim: A variety of Purim activities is planned at Schaarai Zedek, beginning with a pre-Purim Shabbat service and Megillah reading on Friday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. The service will be led by third grade students.

A pre-Purim party for families with children up to age 7, plus siblings of all ages, will be held Saturday, March 3 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Events include making hamantaschen and groggers, listen- ing to the Megillah as told by Purim puppets and clergy. Enjoy pizza and, at the end of the afternoon, the group will celebrate Havdalah. RSVP to the temple office.

On Sunday, March 4 there will be SchZFTY Purim Carnival from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with games and activities. Cost is $10 for the Brotherhood’s hot dog lunch and unlimited games.

On Friday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a Purim Shabbat service featuring a hilarious Purim Shpiel.
