GCJFCS chosen to present FACES project at confab

Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services (GCJFCS) will make a presentation on its FACES project during the annual conference of the Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies in Calgary, Canada, on May 15-17.

The FACES project features stories and vignettes of clients indicative of the Gulf Coast agency’s scope. It includes a photography exhibit and a commemorative book featuring more than 60 photos and vignettes of the clients served statewide, regardless of religion, race or background, by the 32-year-old social service agency.

GCJFCS representatives will also participate in a panel presentation, “Marketing: Real Issues, Real Answers” at the conference.

In conjunction with the meeting, GCJFCS is planning a women’s mission. The mission will include a look at the work of the Jewish Family Services agency in Calgary, along with sightseeing in the Canadian Rockies.

Leading the women’s mission are co-chairs Lisa Titen and Jackie Kanner. An informal and informational dessert meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Barbara Sterensis, GCJFCS board chair. To RSVP or for more information, call Cathy Gardner, marketing and development director, at (727) 479-1862 or e-mail her at
