Hadassah

Women’s roles: Guest speaker Dr. Rachel Silverman will speak on “How Jewish Women are Portrayed on TV Today” during the general meeting of the Ameet Chapter of Hadassah on Tuesday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will at Aston Gardens, 12951 W. Genealogical Society

Ancestry assistance: A program on “How to use Ancestry.com” will be presented by Barbara Smith, program chairperson of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay, on Sunday, March 13 at Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater. Smith will give a brief demonstration of Ancestry.com, followed by a hands-on workshop. A pre-program social with light refreshments, schmoozing and library access begins at 1:30 p.m. and the program starts at 2 p.m. Those attending will have an opportunity to work individually with an expert who will help with database searches. A limited number of computers will be available. Those with laptops should bring them. Support groups

Alzheimer’s caregivers: Menorah Manor’s Bresler Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Program offers a complimentary support group open to anyone in the community. This group meets in the Samson Nursing Center at Menorah Manor, 255 59th St. N., St. Petersburg, on the first Thursday of the month from 3:30-5 p.m. For more information, call Gwen Kaldenberg, MSW, director of the Bresler Program, at 302-3750.
