Teens invited to assist at Israel Independence Day; stay for dinner, pool party

Tampa teens will have the opportunity to volunteer at the community Israel Independence Day celebration as part of the next Jewish Community Center Teen JAM Day.

Each month the Teen JAM, which stands for Jewish Activism and Mitzvah, sponsors an activity that promotes volunteerism and the mitzvah of tzedakah. The program is open to students in eighth– 12th grade and can be used to earn community service hours.

During the Israel Independence Day program, Sunday, April 25, teens will serve as volunteers in the Kid’s Kibbutz (children’s activities area).

The annual event will return this year to the JCC & Federation Community Campus, located off Gunn Highway, from noon – 4 p.m.

Lunch will be provided for teen volunteers and the day will end with a pool party and dinner from 4 – 6:30 p.m.

The day will end with a pool party and dinner from 4– 6:30 p.m.

To sign up, contact Pam Cotner at 813-769-4748 or pam.cotner@jewishtampa.com. Deadline is Wednesday, April 21.

Transportation will be provided at the end of the pool party to Rodeph Sholom arriving at 7:15 p.m. There is a minimum of five teens and a maximum of 13 in order to provide this service. RSVP required.
